What Is a Lead-Safe Certified Renovator (RRP)?
The EPA's RRP Rule requires that contractors performing renovation, repair, or painting work in pre-1978 housing and child-occupied facilities be certified in lead-safe work practices. This certification is not the same as lead paint abatement.
- Contain work areas to prevent lead dust from spreading
- Use proper tools and methods that minimize dust generation
- Clean up thoroughly after work is complete
- Test affected components using EPA-recognized test kits before beginning work
What We Do and What We Don’t Do
This distinction matters, and we want to be straightforward about it.
| Service | What It Means | Does BioSweep SE Offer It? |
|---|---|---|
| Lead-Safe Renovation (RRP) | Performing repair and restoration work safely in buildings with lead paint | Yes |
| Component Testing | Using EPA-approved swab kits to test surfaces affected by our work | Yes |
| Lead Paint Abatement | Permanently eliminating lead paint hazards through full removal, encapsulation, or enclosure | No |
Lead paint abatement is a separate, specialized service that requires different certifications, training, and licensing. If a property has been flagged for abatement through a government program, a court order, or an elevated blood lead level case, then work must be performed by a licensed abatement contractor.
We will always tell you clearly which side of that line a job falls on.

BioSweep and their team are amazing! I can’t say enough about my wonderful experience with them after my car was flooded and had to be dried out and mold removed. Rebecca was amazing, very professional and very responsive to any questions I had as this was the first time I found myself in this awful situation. Rebecca kept me updated on the status of my car and went out of her way keep me informed. They did an amazing job on cleaning my car. I would highly recommend them. Thank you BioSweep!
